Take the One-Million-Dollar Challenge!

In 2004, The MED Foundation was offered a generous unrestricted gift of one-million dollars in honor of Jan and Lewis Donelson. This gift is a challenge gift, structured to motivate The MED Foundation board of directors and staff to raise new dollars each year. For four years, this challenge gift has been essential to our fundraising success – helping us secure thousands of new donors and hundreds of thousands in new dollars. This is the last year to take advantage of this generous offer.

The Challenge:

Raise $200,000 each year in new dollars.
New dollars are defined as either:

a donation from a new donor, or
an increased gift from an existing donor (the increased amount will be matched).

The Pay Off:

A dollar-for-dollar match, up to $200,000 per year for five years, with the last year of the grant being this fiscal year, ending June 30, 2009. That’s a total of one-million dollars over a five-year period.

If you have never given to The MED Foundation or are able to increase your donation from last year, please consider doing so before June 30, 2009 to see your donation is doubled. Don’t miss this opportunity to see your donation make twice as much difference at The MED.

Where does my money go?

You can restrict your gift to one of our Centers of Excellence or you can make an unrestricted gift. The money goes:

To purchase highly specialized equipment for The MED, such as our recent purchase of an MRI compatible neonatal ventilator which allows us to perform MRIs on our smallest patients who are on ventilators.
To provide ongoing training and professional development for our front-line employees.
To provide scholarships for men and women seeking degrees in nursing and other health related fields.
